‘No Kings’ Protests Near You: What To Know And Where To Find Them
Millions expected to double down Saturday to protest the Trump administration.

LAMORINDA, CA — A second series of “No Kings” protests against the Trump administration will take place around the country on Saturday, with many demonstrations scheduled in the North Bay.
The first 'No Kings' protests took place on June 14. Millions of people across the country went out to protest actions taken by the Trump administration, including immigration raids on workplaces, courts and schools, and his expansion of executive power in several areas.
Across the Bay Area, tens of thousands of protesters showed up, gathering in public places in cities such as San Francisco, Oakland and Berkeley.

The protests were coordinated on a trio of overlapping occasions: it was Flag Day on Saturday, but it was also the 250th anniversary of the founding of the U.S. Army, and Trump's own birthday. He planned a military parade in Washington, D.C. to celebrate the day.
No Kings is a coalition of numerous progressive and pro-democracy organizations led and coordinated by the national organizing group Indivisible.

"No Kings" organizers say that although the world saw the power of the people during the mass demonstrations on June 14, Trump has doubled down on his policies, including allowing federal agents to target immigrant families, gutting healthcare and threatening to overtake elections.
So, "No Kings" protests are again being held across the country on Saturday, Oct. 18, with millions of people again expected to protest the Trump administration.
"The president thinks his rule is absolute," according to the organizers of the No Kings movement. "But in America, we don’t have kings and we won’t back down against chaos, corruption, and cruelty."
Here's where some nearby protests will be held:
- Walnut Creek — Broadway Plaza, Mount Diablo Blvd. & Broadway Plaza from 12 to 1:30 p.m.
- Pleasant Hill — Pleasant Hill City Hall, 100 Gregory Lane 1 to 2 p.m.
At least 2,000 protests will be held Saturday in every state in the country, with demonstrations planned in most major U.S. cities, as well as in Canada and Mexico. Protests are designed to be a peaceful day of action, according to the No Kings website.
Protestors’ ranks are expected to be swelled by laid-off federal workers who won’t get a paycheck until the federal government reopens or who may lose their jobs entirely.
The American Federation of Government Employees urged members of its 900 local unions to join No Kings protests as well. Together, the locals represent more than 820,000 workers in almost every federal agency of the government.
“The protest movement has taken on new urgency with the government shutdown that began Oct. 1,” the union said in an Oct. 6 statement. “Shutting down the government is another authoritarian power grab by this administration, which has threatened to lay off mass numbers of furloughed federal workers as part of an ongoing quest to gut federal programs and services the administration finds objectionable.”
No Kings said demonstrators this weekend are expected to protest a variety of administration policies, including immigration enforcement by masked agents and the disruption of migrant families, congressional map gerrymandering, health care and higher costs of living.
