Trader Joe's Mini Renovation At Downtown Lafayette Store Is On The Sept. 8 Design Commission Agenda

The Lafayette Design Review Commission will hear plans for a platform, fencing, and in-store updates on Monday.

LAFAYETTE, CA — Trader Joe's will present plans on Monday to the Lafayette design review commission for upgrades and landscaping to the grocery chain's downtown store on Mount Diablo Boulevard.

Shoppers would see new display shelves and a different checkout area layout, as well as fresh paint and other updates, including the customer bathrooms.

Other updates would be visible only to Trader Joe's workers.

Plans also include a 507-square-foot equipment platform on the west side of the existing building.

Trash bins, a compressor, and a gas cooler would be shielded from view by new fencing that would enclose 137 square feet, where an existing loading zone and trash area now stand.

The Lafayette Design Review Commission meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8, in the Lafayette Library & Learning Center, 3491 Mount Diablo Blvd., Arts & Science Discovery Room. Information and Agenda are available online.
