2 Charged With Manslaughter In Opioid Overdose Death: Marin County Authorities

The 22-year-old victim was found dead in a vehicle, police said.

CORTE MADERA, CA — Two Corte Madera residents face manslaughter charges in connection with a recent opioid overdose death, according to the Marin County Sheriff's Office.

Raul Beltran, 25, and Olivia Peters, 22, were charged with voluntary manslaughter and furnishing a controlled substance resulting in great bodily injury, police announced Monday.

Authorities responded around 9 a.m. Saturday to a report of an unconscious man in a vehicle on Sunnyside Avenue in Corte Madera, according to police, who said the 22-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene of a suspected overdose.

Sheriff's detectives developed probable cause to arrest Beltran and Peters, who were booked into Marin County jail, police said, adding their bail was set at $100,000 each.
