Benefit Sale Features Rare “Treasures” for the Holidays

The eighth annual “Sudha’s Treasures Holiday Sale” featuring exotic items from the collection of acclaimed designer Sudha Pennathur takes place from Dec. 2 to 4, 2011 at Town Center Corte Madera.  The holiday sale will benefit The Redwoods, a popular not-for-profit community of seniors, in Mill Valley.

Each year, Pennathur travels to India where she sponsors and mentors a select group of master craftspeople to create her distinctive jewelry, scarves, decorative objects, Christmas ornaments and other gift items.  Her works are featured in prestigious stores including Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, Saks 5th Avenue, and in the National Geographic museum and the Art Institute of Chicago.

“Every year the Sudha sale benefits the craftspeople of India as well as The Redwoods which provides affordable housing for mid- and lower-income seniors in Marin County,” said Barbara Solomon, executive director of The Redwoods.  “We are grateful for Sudha’s incredible commitment to people globally and locally.”
