Aquatic Animals Getting Help Crossing The Road

Twin Cities and the Friends of Corte Madera Creek Watershed team up to help river otters avoid traffic.

Why did the otter cross the road? Probably for the same reason anyone does — to get to the other side.

That hasn't been easy lately for river otters which have been spotted in the Lucky Drive area. That's why the Friends of Corte Madera Creek Watershed is teaming up with Larkspur and Corte Madera to post warning signs to drivers, as reported by KTVU News.

Twin Cities residents are already used to deer, wild turkeys and ducks crossing city streets — and not always using crosswalks. One turkey is well known for visiting Corte Madera Town Hall.
