CA Parents Sent Child To School With COVID-19, Spurring Outbreak
Parents in Northern California reportedly knew their children had COVID-19 when they dropped them off at school, officials said.
CORTE MADERA, CA — Parents in Northern California knowingly sent their children, who both tested positive for COVID-19, to school last month, triggering an outbreak at an elementary school, district officials said.
Brett Geithman, superintendent of the Larkspur-Corte Madera School District, told the Associated Press that the child tested positive during the week of Nov. 8.
One child contracted the virus first and their sibling later tested positive. Both are students of Neil Cummins Elementary School in Corte Madera, the Associated Press reported.

The parents, who did not notify the school, could face a misdemeanor charge for violating a Marin County health order, which states that people who test positive must isolate for 10 days.
