Coroner IDs Man Whose Death Is Being Investigated As A Homicide

The man was just 22. An investigation into his death continues.

CORTE MADERA, CA — The Marin County coroner's office has released the name of a man who died of a suspected overdose last weekend in Corte Madera in a case being investigated as manslaughter.

Zachary Colety, 22, from Corte Madera, was found dead Saturday morning in his vehicle on Sunnyside Avenue. Police suspected an overdose and subsequently arrested two people on suspicion of manslaughter for allegedly providing him with the drugs.

Raul Beltran, 25, and Olivia Peters, 22, both residents of Corte Madera, were booked into jail on suspicion of manslaughter and for allegedly furnishing a controlled substance resulting in great bodily injury.

According to the county Sheriff's Office, a forensic postmortem examination with routine toxicology testing has been completed. The cause and manner of Colety's death will be pending the conclusion of the investigations being completed by the Central Marin Police Authority, Marin County investigators and the Marin County Sheriff Office's Coroner Division.
