CORTE MADERA, CA — The Marin County Free Library's Corte Madera branch has temporarily closed as construction ramps up on a series of improvements inside and outside the building.

County officials expect the library will remain closed through the first week of September. Once the project is complete, visitors can expect improved paths around the library grounds, a resurfaced parking lot with electric vehicle chargers, a new heating and cooling system, improved bathrooms and a more drought-resistant outdoor design with a new deck and lighting.

The $2.3 million renovation was funded by the Corte Madera Library Accessibility Fund, Measure A funds and Marin County's Climate Action Plan.
