Corte Madera Town Council Retreat
Mayor seeks public participation at May 17 event

Corte Madera is a wonderful town and we have much to be proud of. We have strong volunteer participation and a great town staff. The council is focused on improving the town. As a part of that commitment, we are pleased to announce that the Town Council will be having a Council Retreat on Tuesday, May 17, from 5–8 p.m., at the Council Chambers in Town Hall, in place of a regular Council meeting.
This is an opportunity for the council to discuss issues important to the town. Public input is welcome and appreciated. One area of important focus for the retreat is goals for the town. In other words, in what ways can we improve the town? How can we be proactive in our outlook for the town? There are a number of other important topics that we plan to discuss:

• Ways to get more community involvement in town issues (at meetings, etc.) and increase communication to residents
• Ways to use more volunteers from the community for town related projects

• Whether to propose an increase in sales tax to supplement general fund revenue
• Whether to extend the moratorium on medical marijuana dispensaries
• How to share services and cooperate with other cities and agencies to reduce expenditures
