Friends Remember Another Side Of Olmstead

Corte Madera man killed in gang fight Wednesday was trying to turn his life around, according to those close to him.

Jeffrie Lee Olmstead was caught in between trying to start a new future and the criminal life when he was cut down in a gang fight at age 21.

The Corte Madera man is remembered by friends and family as someone who was working to shed his gang affiliations and settle down. That wasn't an easy task and his past caught up with him Wednesday when he was killed during a gang fight in San Rafael that started near Albert Park.

He would have been 22 on Sunday.
