Larkspur Weighs SMART Move
The Larkspur City Council will hold a special meeting Thursday regarding TAM's funding of the SMART rail project.

The Larkspur City Council will meet in a special session Thursday at 4 p.m. regarding funding of the Sonoma Marin Area Rail Transit project.
The meeting comes the same day as a vote by the Transportation Authority of Marin on whether or not to grant $8 million to the SMART project. TAM will meet at 7 p.m. in San Rafael.
Other cities are holding similar meetings. The Town of Corte Madera made it clear during a May 31 meeting that it was opposed to giving an additional $8 million to SMART.

SMART initially owned a right-of-way that went down to the area around The Village shopping center, but has since scaled back plans. The railway is expected to end at the Larkspur Landing Ferry Terminal, unless the plan is further scaled back.
