Rants & Raves: What do you love about living and working in the Twin Cities?
You've heard my rant, so here's my rave:
I love going to the farmers markets and I'm so thrilled that we have two great weekly, year-round markets in the Twin Cities.
My eyes got so wide and my tummy rumbled when I was a kid in a candy store. Now I get that same kind of feeling when I walk between tables of fresh, local tomatoes, meats, honey and eggs.

I take a determined focus on organic, healthy ingredients — especially the Super Foods I've learned about through the Center for Health and Integrative Wellness at the Marin Cancer Institute.
Fallon Hills Ranch in Tomales is one of my particular favorites when I hit the Larkspur farmers market at Marin Country Mart on Saturdays. I've met the owner, Kevin Maloney, and his family and trust them all when they say their animals are humanely raised.

There's going to be a big Earth Day party at the MCM farmers market on April 21. I plan to be there to help celebrate and to meet and greet my Twin Cities friends and neighbors.
The MCM farmers market sets up every Saturday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., rain or shine. For that midweek food fix, there's the Corte Madera farmers market every Wednesday, noon to 5 p.m., at the Town Center.
Don't pass up the free samples offered by vendors here, it's like snacking across the globe. And always look for good deals on fruits and vegetables.
