New Greek Restaurant Is Coming To Marin Country Mart
With locations in SF, the "Make It Nice & Be Nice" Souvla is bringing its all-Greek wine, salads, sandwiches & frozen yogurt to Larkspur.
LARKSPUR, CA — Souvla, a Greek eatery with a "Make It Nice and Be Nice" motto, plans its first foray outside San Francisco with its sixth restaurant scheduled to open in August at the Marin Country Mart in Larkspur.
“When thinking about our next Souvla location, we were looking for an iconic destination in a part of the Bay Area where we know we have a loyal following, but haven’t grown into yet,” said Souvla founder and CEO Charles Bililies.
“The businesses located at the Marin Country Mart are all highest-quality, well-considered and community-based, and we’re looking forward to making our first move outside of San Francisco and expanding our fan base to the North Bay,” he added.

Souvla opened its first location in 2014 in San Francisco's Hayes Valley, and now operates SF sites in NOPA, the Mission and Marina district, with a fifth planned for June in the Dogpatch neighborhood.
The Marin location will be in the shopping mart's central courtyard with indoor and outdoor dining, and will be open daily for lunch and dinner from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The restaurant's traditional menu will be served, with such Souvla classics as lamb, pork, chicken and white sweet- potato sandwiches and salads with yogurt sauces and Souvla’s signature Granch, pita bread, Greek fries, Avgolemono soup (egg-lemon soup with chicken and rice) and frozen Greek yogurt desserts.
Since opening in 2014, Souvla has boasted the country’s only all-Greek beverage list, down to its sparkling water and iced tea, and continues to champion Greek wines in a partnership with the renowned Greek producer Domaine Skouras, according to the operators.
And to create its Larkspur location, Souvla — which means meat-roasting “spit” or “skewer” in Greek — hired its first professional designer.
The Marin site will be designed by Matt Winter of M. Winter Design, a Los Angeles-based interior design studio that specializes in retail and hospitality projects. The aim is to create an atmosphere reminiscent of the brand’s restaurants in San Francisco, while emphasizing Souvla’s authentic Greek ties.
The Larkspur Souvla will be at the Marin County Mart, 1805 Larkspur Landing Circle.
San Francisco locations are at 517 Hayes St. in Hayes Valley, 531 Divisadero St. in NOPA, 758 Valencia St. in the Mission and 2272 Chestnut St.in the Marina district. Souvla Dogpatch will be at 2505 3rd St.
