Possible Joyriders Responsible For Spree Of Stolen Cars
Twin Cities Police Log Feb. 8-14: Several residents are reunited with their stolen cars.

The Twin Cities Police successfully reunited owners within 24 hours with cars that had been reported stolen.
• A resident of the 10 block of Drakes Way reported that sometime during the night, his vehicle had been stolen. A Stolen Vehicle report was taken and the vehicle was entered into the Stolen Vehicle System. Later that same date, the vehicle was located in the 10 block of Via La Cumbre. The owner was notified and the vehicle was removed from the Stolen Vehicle System.
• A resident of the 40 block of Via Belardo reported his vehicle had been stolen sometime during the night. A Stolen Vehicle report was taken and the vehicle was entered into the Stolen Vehicle System. Later the same date, the vehicle was located in the 20 block of Corte Encanto. The owner was notified and the vehicle was removed from the Stolen Vehicle System.
• A resident of the 30 block of El Portal reported his vehicle had been stolen. An Auto Theft report was taken and the vehicle was entered into the Stolen Vehicle System. On February 14, 2012, the vehicle was recovered by the Vallejo Police Department. The owner was notified and the vehicle was removed from the Stolen Vehicle System.
• A resident in the 600 block of Via Casitas reported his vehicle had been stolen sometime during the night. A Stolen Vehicle report was taken and the vehicle was entered into the Stolen Vehicle System. Later the same date, the vehicle was located in the 60 block of Via Holon. The owner was notified and the vehicle was removed from the Stolen Vehicle System.
• An employee of a business in the 2200 block of Larkspur Landing Circle called to report she arrived for work and discovered the lock broken. A computer and cash box containing approximately $500 are missing. A Commercial Burglary report was taken to document the theft.
• An employee of a business in the Corte Madera Town Center reported a set of knives were stolen from the store. The approximate loss is $1,500. A Grand Theft report was taken.
• An employee of a business in the Village Shopping Center reported that someone tried to pry open the front door during the night. A report was taken for an Attempted Commercial Burglary.
• A resident of the 900 block of Meadowsweet Drive reported an unknown subject took out a $1,000 loan in his name in September 2011. He is now getting calls from a collection agency. A Fraud report was taken and there is possible follow-up pending.
• Pursuant to a traffic stop in the area of Tamalpais Drive and Sanford Street, an Oakland man was arrested on an outstanding Warrant held by the Oakland Police Department. He was booked at the Marin County Jail.
• A person called to report that a female subject was lying on the ground and appeared to be intoxicated in the 200 block of Tamalpais Drive. The subject was located and an Upper Tomales female was arrested for being Intoxicated in a Public Place. She was booked at the Marin County Jail.
• A Kentfield resident reported that while she was in a business in the 400 block of Sir Francis Drake Boulevard, her wallet was stolen. A Petty Theft report was taken for documentation.
• A resident of the 200 block of Via Casitas reported that that his 15 year old daughter had run away. He stated he had just received a call from his daughter’s therapist advising of her whereabouts and she was refusing to come home. He stated his daughter is on Juvenile Probation and is in violation of her conditions. Units responded and the subject was located. A Greenbrae juvenile female was arrested for Violation of Probation and booked into the Marin County Juvenile Hall.
• An employee of a business in the 60 block of Koch Road reported someone broke a window and took computer equipment. A Commercial Burglary report was taken.
• City Cycle, located at 13 San Clemente Drive, reported someone stole a black and white Trek Rumble Fish 2 bicycle, valued at $3,700, while taking it for a "test ride." The bicycle is a men's 20 speed mountain bike with 19" frame and 29" wheels. There is a City Cycle sticker on the rear triangle. A Grand Theft report was taken and the vehicle was entered into the Stolen Property System.
• A business in the 800 block of Magnolia Avenue called to report they had a subject in the store that had been panhandling and seemed to be under the influence. The subject left the store on foot walking on Magnolia. A homeless subject was located and was arrested for Public Intoxication and booked into the Marin County Jail.
• A resident in the 1500 block of Casa Buena Drive reported his tool shed was broken into and tools were taken. The shed is below the apartment building. A Residential Burglary report was taken to document the theft.
• A resident in the 500 block of Via Casitas reported he parked his vehicle and came out after work and found it was missing. Officers checked the area with negative results and a Vehicle Theft report was taken. The vehicle was entered into the Stolen Vehicle System. On February 14, 2012, the Vallejo Police Department advised they had located the vehicle and had two subjects in custody. The owner was notified and the vehicle was removed from the stolen vehicle system.
• Pursuant to receiving a 9-1-1 call, Officers responded to a report of a woman and a man screaming in the area of the 10 block of Via Belardo. As officers were arriving in the area, a second call was received from the victim who claimed a man grabbed her and told her he was going to get her. She then began to hit the suspect with her umbrella which caused the subject to run off. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the responsible subject. A report was taken.
• A San Rafael resident reported via 9-1-1 that her purse was stolen from her locked vehicle within the past 30 minutes from the parking lot at 110 Nellen Ave. Entry was made by smashing the rear passenger window. The purse contained a wallet, credit cards, a Social Security card and keys to another vehicle. An Auto Burglary report was taken to document the theft.
• A business in the Village Shopping Center reported the theft of a jacket valued at $149. The business has video of the theft. A theft report was taken and there is follow-up pending.
• A Richmond resident reported the theft of his vehicle from the parking lot of the Marin Airporter sometime since the early morning hours of February 9, 2012. An Auto Theft report was taken and the vehicle was entered into the Stolen Vehicle System.
• A Ross resident reported he parked his vehicle in the lot near the 24 Hour Fitness, located in the Marin Country Mart shopping center, and when he returned, he found the window was smashed. Taken was a case that contained a Macbook laptop and several checkbooks. An Auto Burglary report was taken.
• A San Leandro resident reported that his vehicle was broken into sometime over the weekend in the lot at the Marin Airporter. It was determined that nothing was missing from the vehicle. An Auto Burglary report was taken for documentation.
• A report was received from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office of Fraud that had occurred in three locations in Corte Madera, with the victim living in their jurisdiction. A report was taken and an investigation was initiated.
• Officers responded to the 300 block of Elm Street on a 9-1-1 report that a female subject could be heard screaming in the street asking to call 9-1-1. The caller reported noting there were broken items in the street. The caller said when she contacted the female subject, she said that the female told her she had broken up with her boyfriend and that he attacked her, but she wasn't injured. Officers responded but couldn't locate the involved male subject. The female subject declined medical attention. A Domestic Battery report was taken for documentation.
• During this one week time period, Twin Cities Police had 338 calls for service. This included two calls related to hit and run accidents and six property damage only accidents. There were four auto burglaries, three commercial burglaries and one residential burglary. There were no calls related to Driving while Intoxicated.
