Prius Reported Stolen Saturday Found on Monday – Where Driver Had Parked It

A Marin resident had told police that she did some grocery and toy shopping at the Corte Madera Town Center Saturday afternoon, only to return to find her car stolen; she realized two days later that she'd parked it elsewhere.

A Marin resident who reported that her 2012 green Toyota Prius was stolen from the Corte Madera Town Center parking lot while she was shopping Saturday afternoon realized on Monday morning that she'd simply parked the car elsewhere in the lot, according to the Central Marin Police Authority.

The woman called police Monday at 9 a.m. to report that she found her car in the Town Center parking lot, CMPA Cpl. Sethi Jervan said.

"Apparently, she typically parks in the same place every time and she forgot that she had parked in a different place this time," Jervan said.

The car theft was first reported at 3:34 p.m. Saturday when the woman returned to her Prius after shopping at Safeway and A Child's Delight, CMPA officials said.
