RVSD To Review Pipeline Work
Ross Valley Sanitary District board to meet Wednesday, Feb. 22, at the Twin Cities Police Department conference room.
Local commuters can get a closer look at the details of the sewer line work on Magnolia Avenue during a Ross Valley Sanitary District meeting Wednesday, Feb. 22, 6:45 p.m. at the new Twin Cities Police headquarters on Doherty Drive.
The RVSD board will review 11 pipeline failure locations, including Magnolia Avenue, during the meeting.
A RVSD crew used a close-circuit TV inspection of the trunk line that runs under the path alongside Magnolia Avenue between Bon Air Road and Doherty Drive to discover that a section of the pipe had collapsed.
“Wastewater is still making its way through the damaged section of pipe despite the problem, however we must repair it immediately,” Brett Richards, General Manger of Ross Valley Sanitary District, said at the time. “We are fortunate that this was discovered before a major rain event as it is quite likely we could have had a major spill.”
In a unanimous vote by the Ross Valley Sanitary District Board of Directors at an emergency meeting, a bid for the work on Magnolia was awarded to Maggiora & Ghilotti of San Rafael. The work is expected to be completed within the next 60-90 days depending on weather conditions, according to Richards.
