Town Council Considers Sharing Fire Personnel
Town Council Agenda Feb. 22, 2012: Corte Madera is looking at cost-saving measures, but Mayor Bob Ravasio cautions this is not a consolidation measure.
Towns and cities all over are looking for ways to save money, especially as the State tightens the belt.
The Town of Corte Madera is also looking at cost-saving measures, including an agreement with the Southern Marin Fire Protection District to share personnel. The amendment will be on the agenda for Tuesday's Town Council meeting at 7:30 p.m.
"(This is) not a consolidation measure... I believe we are sharing time with one battalion chief at this point from Corte Madera, who will spend some time at Southern Marin Fire. It will save us a little money now, more over time," Corte Madera Mayor Bob Ravasio said.
Also on tonight's agenda are proposals to allow the posting of signs supporting the Corte Madera Women's Improvement Club's March 17 Yard Sale and the March 23 Larkspur-Corte Madera Schools Foundation Fashion Show.
