Rash of commercial burglaries; Homeless man arrested on narcototics charges in marsh.

Twin Cities Police Officers responded to a report of an audible alarm at a business in the 2100 block of Redwood Highway and found the front door to the business had been damaged. The business was checked and it appears that there was no loss at this time.
Officers then responded to a report of an audible alarm at a business in the 5700 block of Paradise Drive and located a broken window. The interior of the business was found to have been ransacked. It was discovered that an undetermined amount of petty cash and some personal items were taken. 
While checking the area after handling the previous two Commercial Burglaries, a TCPD Officer located a broken window at a business in the 80 block of Casa Buena Drive. The interior was checked and found to be ransacked. The owner checked the business and advised it did not appear that anything was taken. A Commercial Burglary report was taken.

TCPD Officers responded to a report of a broken window at a business in the 100 block of Casa Buena Drive and found that it had been ransacked. The business owner determined that $100 in petty cash was taken from a locked office drawer. Five broken windows were located at the business.

Twin Cities Police received a report of three male subjects and a female subject wearing backpacks and carrying firewood and walking out into the marsh area from the end of Industrial Way, which is an ecological preserve and they were wearing backpacks and carrying firewood. Units responded and checked the area, but were unable to locate the described subjects. However, while checking the area, they did locate a homeless Marin man who was in possession of narcotics and narcoticsparaphernalia. He was arrested and booked at the Marin County Jail for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Narcotics Paraphernalia.

An anonymous report was made of approximately eight subjects walking into the marsh area from the area of Wornum Drive and Redwood Highway, carrying beer, and it appeared that they were getting ready to have a party in the ecological preserve. Officers were unable to locate the described subjects, but located a Novato resident and a homeless Marin County man. The Marin County man was arrested on an outstanding Marin County Warrant and booked into the Marin County Jail.

A 16 year old San Anselmo male student of San Andreas High School was transported to the Marin County Juvenile Hall at the request of his Marin County Probation Officer when he was found to be under the influence of Marijuana at school.

A resident of Corte Madera responded to TCPD to report vandalism to the passenger side door and trunk of her vehicle. She was unsure where it occurred, but felt that it may have happened at Trader Joe’s in the Cost Plus Plaza or near the Chase Bank in the Bon Air Shopping Center.

A Sausalito resident reported that while her vehicle was parked at Village Shopping Center, it was struck by unknown vehicle causing damage to her rear bumper and leaving a paint transfer. There were no witnesses and no responsible vehicle information.

A Kentfield resident reported that while her vehicle was parked at the Village Shopping Center, it was entered via unknown means and a bag of new clothing and a bracelet were taken. The loss was estimated at $275. 

Officers responded to a verbal dispute between two neighbors in the 2100 block of Redwood Highway. One of the involved parties claimed the other was “screaming” at her for allegedly spraying pesticides. The incident was mediated and advice was given to both parties.

A San Anselmo resident reported that while she was shopping at the Apple Store in the Village Shopping Center, she set her purse down near the front of the store and left it unattended while she looked at some items. When she returned to her purse, she discovered that someone had taken $60 in cash, prescription medication, a 10-inch Verizon laptop computer, an Apple 32GB iPod and a Droid Pro. Total loss is $1,161. 

A resident of the 10 block of Paloma Drive reported that his daughters bicycle, valued at $200, was stolen from in front of their residence. He felt that a blue truck, which he saw illegally dumping boxes into his garbage can around the same time, may be involved. There was no further information regarding the vehicle or subjects.

A vehicle, which had the keys left in the ignition, originally reported stolen from the 200 block of Baltimore Avenue in Larkspur was located in a private parking garage in the 30 block of San Clemente Drive when it was being towed for abandoned on the private property. The vehicle was cleared from the Stolen Vehicle System.

A resident of the 70 block of Corte Lenosa reported that her husband was outside with a vehicle that had run into their parked vehicle and that he had been yelling at the driver. Officers located the driver of the vehicle at the indicated residence. A Greenbrae man was arrested for Driving while Under the Influence of Alcohol and booked at the Marin County Jail. An additional charge of Misdemeanor Hit-and-Run will be sought through the Marin County District Attorney’s Office.

A resident in the 20 block of Redwood Avenue reported that she could hear a neighbor outside calling for help. A San Francisco woman was located and determined to be intoxicated. She was arrested for being Intoxicated in a Public Place and booked at the Marin County Jail.

A resident in the 400 block of Via Casitas reported that the saddlebags were stolen from her motorcycle while it was parked in the area of her residence. The loss is $1,200.

A Petaluma resident reported that while his locked vehicle was parked in the Golden Gate Ferry Terminal parking lot, someone entered the vehicle via unknown means and took the stereo. The loss is $300.

A Novato resident reported that while her vehicle was parked in the C lot of the Village Shopping Center, her Apple Mac Book Pro laptop computer, valued at $2,500, was stolen.

A Larkspur resident reported that he had just witnessed a hit-and-run accident with a parked vehicle in the parking lot near the Crate and Barrel store in the Corte Madera Town Center and that the involved vehicle is still parked in the lot. A TCPD Officer contacted the driver of the involved vehicle and assisted with the exchange of information.


A resident in the 500 block of Cane St. reported that she had seen three men leave the Silver Peso Bar and get into a sedan. As they drove out of the area, she saw the vehicle scratch the bumper of another vehicle. She said that she called out to the driver that he had hit another vehicle and he responded that it was only a scratch and continued driving out of the area. Units were unable to locate the responsible vehicle and subjects in the area.

Units responded to a residence in the 40 block of Parkview Circle and determined that there had been a domestic dispute between a boyfriend and his girlfriend, a Mill Valley woman. A Corte Madera man was arrested for Domestic Battery and booked at the Marin County Jail.

A resident in the 10 block of Council Crest Drive reported that there are a large amount of belongings scattered in the roadway in the area of their residence. Officers located the items and it was determined that they had come from a vehicle that was a victim of a carjacking in San Francisco. The vehicle and subjects were now in-custody. The items were turned over to the San Francisco Police Department.

Officers responded to San Andreas High School after a student threatened to break the windows on a campus supervisor’s vehicle. The student, a male Fairfax resident, was upset after a laser pen was confiscated from him. The situation was mediated and the student was warned for bringing a laser pen to school. All further action will be handled by San Andreas High School.

A resident in the 50 block of Sandy Creek Way reported that she had just returned home and discovered that jewelry and a purse are missing from the residence. She felt that her son, who was passed out in the bedroom, is responsible and wanted assistance from an Officer in contacting him as she felt he is under the influence of alcohol or drugs. She also advised that he is on Probation. The son was arrested for Violation of Probation and booked at the Marin County Jail. Further investigation in the case is in progress.

A resident of the 200 block of Old Quarry Road North reported that the rear license plate was stolen from her vehicle sometime during the night. A report was taken and the license plate was entered into the Stolen Vehicle System.

A resident of Decatur, Ga, reported that “computer items” had been fraudulently purchased on her credit card and was delivered to an address in Greenbrae. A Fraud report was taken and there is further investigation pending.

A Mill Valley resident reported that sometime during the afternoon, while his vehicle was parked in the rear lot of a business in the 700 block of Larkspur Landing Circle, someone slashed the right front tire. The vandalism to the vehicle was documented.

A Kentfield resident reported that while she was driving on Larkspur Landing Circle in the area of East Sir Francis Drake Boulevard, she was rear-ended by a subject in a pick-up truck. The subject then drove off up Larkspur Landing Circle without providing her with any required information. The area was checked for the vehicle with negative results. 

During this one week time period, Twin Cities Police had 310 calls for service. This included one accident with minor injuries, four hit and run accidents and 11 property damage only accidents. There were two auto burglaries and four commercial burglaries. There were three calls related to Driving while Intoxicated, resulting in two arrests.
