Twin Cities Police Log: March 23-30
Couple mugged in Jim Niven Park; Mercedes, jewelry stolen from home on La Cuesta.

• A San Francisco couple were robbed while walking through Jim Niven Park by a man wearing a black hood and grey jeans. The male victim handed over his wallet and was then hit over the head with a blunt object. He was then admitted to the Marin General Hospital Emergency Room.
• A resident in the 70 block of La Cuesta Drive reported that he had received a call from a neighbor advising him that his garage door was standing open. He found that a rear door to the residence had been forced open and his wife’s 2011 Mercedes was missing from the garage. There is also jewelry missing from the residence. A residential burglary report was taken and the vehicle was entered into the stolen vehicle system. There is further investigation pending.
• Dr. David Andrews Office, located at 599 Sir Francis Drake Blvd., Suite 208, reported that someone has been writing and obtaining fraudulent prescriptions under the Doctor’s name. The prescriptions were passed at the CVS Pharmacy in San Rafael and there is suspect information. A report was taken and further investigation pending.
• A resident in the 70 block of Briar Road reported the theft of prescription drugs from a safe in her residence. There is possible suspect information and follow-up is pending.
• TCPD Units responded to a residence on Blue Rock Court at the request of the Corte Madera Fire Department due to suspicious circumstances surrounding a medical aid call they had gone to there. As a result, a Corte Madera woman who was contacted at the residence was arrested on an outstanding Marin County Warrant and booked into the Marin County Jail.
• A resident in the 700 block of Via Casitas reported the theft of her 2007 red Ducati 1098S motorcycle from the underground parking at the building. A report was taken and the vehicle was entered into the stolen vehicle system.
• A Loss Prevention Officer for the Mollie Stone’s grocery store, located in the Bon Air Shopping Center, reported that a subject had left the store with a shopping cart full of liquor, but had abandoned the property when confronted and then fled on foot. After a short foot pursuit, the subject, a San Pablo man, was located and arrested on charges of Commercial Burglary, Possession of Burglary Tools, Possession of Prescription Drugs without a Prescription and Possession of Narcotics Paraphernalia. He was booked into the Marin County Jail.
• Officers responded to a report of a two vehicle non-injury accident in the 5600 block of Paradise Drive.
• A TCPD Officer, while on patrol, located a minor-injury solo bicycle accident involving an adult and a child in the area of Monte Vista Avenue and Baltimore Avenue. The subjects were treated at the scene by the Larkspur Fire Department.
• A caller reported suspicious subjects attempting to hitchhike on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard at the U.S. 101 interchange. Officers contacted a homeless man and homeless women who were sent on their way.
• A San Rafael resident reported that while she was taking the off-ramp to westbound Sir Francis Drake Boulevard from U.S. 101, she rear-ended another vehicle, but the other vehicle did not stop. There was damage to the front end of her vehicle, but damage to the other vehicle is unknown.
• Officers responded to a call of a males screaming in the area of the 10 block of Hazel Avenue. A Mendocino man was arrested for being intoxicated in a public place and transported to the Helen Vine Center for detoxification.
• A resident of San Francisco reported that his locked vehicle was entered via unknown means while it was parked at Piper Park. Taken were his wallet and an iPhone. Loss was estimated at $602.
• A Resident in the 200 block of Via Casitas reported a burglary of her storage shed by prying off the lock. Three to six bottles of wine, valued at approximately $100, were taken.
• A TCPD Officer located a hit-and-run accident with a small dump truck that had run into a parked vehicle, but the driver had left the scene, in the 600 block of Magnolia Ave. The dump truck had to be towed due to a broken axle. The driver of the dump truck later called and advised that he had been injured in the accident, but did not seek medical attention because he did not have a vehicle. However, he had taken a taxi home and had gone to sleep.
• A Corte Madera resident reported that he had parked his business vehicle in the 1500 block of Casa Buena Drive and when he returned to it, he found that it had been vandalized by someone breaking a window. Nothing appeared to be missing from the vehicle.
• The Safeway store in the Corte Madera Town Center reported that they had an employee in custody for embezzlement. A San Rafael woman was booked at the Marin County Jail on that charge. Loss is approximately $30,000.
• During this one week time period, the Twin Cities Police Department had 316 calls for service. This included accident with minor injuries, three hit and run accidents and two property damage only accidents. There were three auto burglaries, one commercial burglary and two residential burglaries. There were no calls related to Driving while Intoxicated.
