Twin Cities Police Log: Two Drunk Drivers and Assaulting a Police Officer

One driver was accused of hitting the side wall on the Golden Gate Bridge and later a light pole near Cost Plus, while the other driver was found slumped over the steering wheel.

 

Here’s a roundup of Central Marin Police arrests for Monday, July 15:

2:12 a.m. – Police received a call from a driver who said he saw another driver hit the side wall on the Golden Gate Bridge while heading northbound. The driver said he followed the other car until it exited the freeway in Larkspur, where the driver hit a light pole in the parking lot of the Cost Plus shopping center. The driver, a 27-year-old woman, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and booked into Marin County Jail.

4:06 p.m. – The owner of a Corte Madera hotel reported to police that an unwanted man and woman were in the lobby of the hotel, refusing to leave after being denied a room. The man and another woman had been asked by hotel staff in the past not to return, according to the report. The subjects saw the owner calling police and left the hotel towards Corte Madera Town Center. Police said they contacted the pair on Madera Blvd. and that a 51-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest and violating probation. He was booked into Marin County Jail.

6:17 p.m. – An employee at a business on Tamalpais Dr. reported that a car was parked in the lot for the past hour with the engine running, with the driver slumped over the steering wheel. Police went to the scene and determined that the driver, a 42-year-old San Francisco man, was intoxicated. He was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and booked into the county jail.
