Want To Make Local History? Or At Least Preserve It?

Around Town Jan. 12-13: Ever thought of getting more involved in your community? Check out the Larkspur Heritage Preservation Board meeting Thursday night.

 

• If you have any interest in the history of the Twin Cities, you might want to drop in at the Larkspur's Heritage Preservation Board meeting tonight, Thursday, at 7 p.m. The board will discuss the possible recruitment of new members. Also on the agenda is a report from a field trip to the former Niven Nursery property, soon to be cleared for the Rose Garden housing project. • A provocative title for a provocative read, The Last Nude, by Ellis Avery. The author will be at Book Passage in Corte Madera on Friday at 7 p.m. to discuss her new book.

• The Redwood High School boys basketball team tries Friday to snap a three-game losing streak when the Giants visit San Rafael in a league showdown at 7:30 p.m. The Redwood girls tip off at 6 p.m. against the Bulldogs as the Giants look for their third win in a row.

• Marin Catholic boys basketball (13-2 overall) is riding high as the Wildcats head north to play Justin-Siena for a 7:30 p.m. game Friday. Marin Catholic's girls squad (8-6 overall, 4-0 MCAL) will try to remain undefeated in league play, with action starting at 6 p.m. Friday.
