OK, the flying monkeys are scary, but The Wizard Of Oz has always been one of the most beloved family movies since its release in 1939. The Lark Theater is kicking off its 2012 season of films for kids with the classic adventures of Dorothy, Toto, the Tin Woodsman, the Cowardly Lion and the Scarecrow on Sunday, Jan. 29, at 3 p.m. Feel free to belt out "Somewhere over the rainbow" during this sing-along.

• Redwood High School's basketball teams head to Novato on Friday, Jan. 27, for a Marin County Athletic League game. The Redwood girls (11-8 overall) will try to shake off a three-game losing skid start when they take on the Hornets at 6 p.m. The Redwood boys (11-9 overall) will try to put together back-to-back wins as they tip off at 7:30 p.m.
• Marin Catholic will visit Terra Linda on Friday, Jan. 27, in a MCAL basketball doubleheader. The Wildcat boys (16-4 overall) will try to bounce back from Tuesday's loss to Drake when they take on the Trojans at 7:30 p.m. Marin Catholic's girls (12-7 overall) try to keep their wining streak alive when they tip off at 6 p.m.

• Environmental Forum of Marin kicks off its eighth annual Seminar Series for Marin residents starting Saturday, Jan. 28, at Hospice of Marin. Changes, Challenges and Choices, a series of 11 Saturday classes, explores environmental issues. The series will highlight how humans, wildlife, and plants depend on Nature's life-supporting services. Tickets are $40.
• Drop by the Marin Country Mart farmers market every Saturday, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m., to pick up local, farm-fresh fruits, vegetables and meat. While your there, hang out with the family and enjoy some music and storytime for the kids.
