Helix Water District: Get A Rebate On Mulch!

Give your yard the spruce up it needs with mulch.

Customers of Helix Water District are eligible for a rebate of $25 per cubic yard, up to $100, to purchase and install plant-based mulch.

Mulch is great for your landscape. It keeps the soil for your plants cool, which makes them more water efficient. Mulch also helps reduce erosion, can add nutrients to your soil and even prevent weeds.

Now is a perfect time to get outside and install mulch to prepare your plants for warmer weather. Cover bare soil areas between plants with a 3 to 4 inch layer of mulch, and be sure to pull the mulch 3 to 5 inches away from the base of any shrub or tree.

You can buy mulch from nurseries, resource recycling facilities, landscape supply stores, home improvement stores and even tree trimming services.

Once you purchase your mulch, apply for the rebate – the process is easy. Install your mulch in your landscape and take three photos of your completed work. Then, submit the mulch rebate application with your three mulch photos and a copy of your sales receipt to conserve@helixwater.org.

Rebates are available on a first-come, first-served basis. As of February 17, 2022, we have 1/3 of our funding remaining for the Mulch Rebate Program. Don’t wait. Purchase and install mulch and apply today.
