LA County had the most ZIP codes of any region in a new ranking of the most expensive real estate markets in the country.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Los Angeles County is home to 20 of the nation's 100 priciest ZIP codes based on median home-sale prices this year — the most of any county in the U.S., according to a new analysis from real estate data site PropertyShark.

The county's sky-high housing costs drove SoCal's dominance on the list: 38 of the 100 most expensive ZIP codes in the country are in LA, Orange, San Diego and Santa Barbara counties.

To come up with the list, PropertyShark calculated median sale prices based on closed home sales this year up until Oct. 20. To be included, ZIP codes must have had at least three sales. The top 100 list included 122 ZIP codes due to ties, according to PropertyShark.
