Los Alamitos Officials Celebrate Resident's 101st Birthday
The Los Alamitos City Council recently recognized longtime resident Nancy Fagen for her 101st birthday.
LOS ALAMITOS, CA — It's not every day the Los Alamitos City Council recognizes a resident's birthday it's, but it's also not every day someone in the city turns 101.
The City Council presented a formal certificate of recognition to Nancy Fagen during its May 16 meeting for her 101st birthday. Fagen reached the milestone on April 29, Los Alamitos officials said.
The Los Alamitos Senior Club Board celebrated Fagen's birthday as well, throwing a party for her in late April with a rendition of "Happy Birthday" from children in the Ready, Set, Go! Preschool Program.

Fagen was born on April 29, 1921, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Truman and Hazel Forest and had five siblings, Los Alamitos officials said.
Fagen moved to California in 1946 with her husband, where they had five children. Two years after the passing of her husband in 1960, Fagen re-married and settled in the Lakewood area for 57 years before eventually moving into the Royal Oak Mobile Home Park in Los Alamitos, city officials said.
