Los Alamitos Police Reopens Lobby Amid Drop In COVID Rates
The reopening comes after Los Alamitos police closed its lobby to the public in January amid a winter surge of COVID-19 rates.

LOS ALAMITOS, CA — The Los Alamitos Police Department has reopened its lobby doors to the public as COVID-19 rates in Orange County continue to trend downwards.
The lobby hours will be Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., according to the department's Facebook post. The lobby will be closed on Fridays, weekends and holidays.
The lobby had closed on Jan. 3 amid a rise in COVID-19 infections in Orange County brought on by the omicron variant.

Residents will still have the option to request a police report online by filling out a request form on the department's website and emailing it to the agency's records bureau.
COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations have been on a steady decline in the last several weeks.

The Orange County Health Care Agency reported Monday the number of hospitalizations dropped from 233 to 217, and the case rate per 100,000 people went from 11 to 10.7.
