Man Admits To Robbing Seal Beach Bank
The 43-year-old bank robber from Westminster was immediately sentenced to prison Monday.
WESTMINSTER, CA — A 43-year-old man pleaded guilty Monday and was immediately sentenced to five years in prison for robbing a bank in Seal Beach.
Thomas Crampton of Anaheim pleaded guilty to a felony count of robbery.
The robbery at the Chase Bank at 801 Pacific Coast Highway in Seal Beach occurred at about 9 a.m. March 19, according to Lt. Julia Clasby of the Seal Beach Police Department.

According to police, bank employees told dispatchers that a man entered the bank, demanded money and threatened to harm them if his demands were not met. The employees complied with the suspect's demands, and the suspect walked away.
Seal Beach officers responded and immediately began searching for the suspect.

After an extensive area search with the assistance of the Seal Beach Marine Safety Lifeguards, an Orange County Sheriff's Department bloodhound, the Hawthorne Police Department and the Torrance Police Department, Crampton was located approximately a half-mile from the bank, Clasby said.
