Seal Beach Police To Host Volunteers In Police Services Academy
The academy is geared toward residents interested in law enforcement and helping the Seal Beach Police Department.

SEAL BEACH, CA — The Seal Beach Police Department is looking for residents interested in public service to join its Volunteer in Police Services Academy starting in May.
The five-week academy will begin May 5 and meet every Thursday from 8 a.m. to noon at the Seal Beach Police Department. Each academy session is mandatory, the department said.
Participates in the academy help with various police department functions, including helping with special events, records and volunteer patrols, the agency said.

Volunteers must be local area residents, consent to a criminal background check and have a desire to serve the public, the department said.
Seal Beach police said the academy can help retirees who are looking to give back to their community, young adults who are looking for work experience and for parents who have free time during the day while their children are in school.
