Surfing Competition Going To The Dogs This Weekend In Huntington Beach

The Purina Pro Plan Incredible Dog Challenge will feature canines hitting the waves for a surfing competition.

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA — Huntington Beach is no stranger to hosting surfing contests, but the city will go to the dogs this weekend when Purina holds its Incredible Dog Challenge and Surf Dog Competition.

The challenge and competition will be Friday and Saturday at Huntington Beach State Park and will feature dogs from around the Southland taking part, a spokesperson for Purina said. The public can attend the challenge and competition for free.

Friday's festivities will be from 9 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. and kicks off with the Surf Dog competition.

Qualifying rounds and practices for several other activities, including dock diving, agility courses and disc catches, will be held after the surfing competition, the Purina spokesperson said.

The Purina Pro Plan Incredible Dog Challenge will be Friday, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
