Virginia Man Arrested In Connection To Seal Beach Knife Assault

The alleged assault happened in the parking lot of a CVS Pharmacy at 921 Pacific Coast Highway, Seal Beach police said.

SEAL BEACH, CA — A Virginia man allegedly assaulted someone with a knife in the parking lot of a CVS Pharmacy on Friday, the Seal Beach Police Department said.

Christopher Patino-Guzman, 20, of Arlington, Va., was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, police said. He was booked at the Theo Lacy Facility and remains held on $25,000 bail, according to jail records.

The alleged knife assault happened around 8:15 in the CVS Pharmacy parking lot at 921 Pacific Coast Highway, Seal Beach police said.

A man had just exited his car after parking it when a man approached him and held a knife close to his throat, according to authorities.

The man with the knife did not say anything to the man, police said. The man then put the knife away and went inside the pharmacy.

The victim was unharmed in the confrontation, police said.

Seal Beach police officers contacted a suspect inside the store and arrested him without incident. Authorities identified the suspect as Patino-Guzman.

The motive for the assault is unknown, and police said it was "seemingly random."
