The Army said a major purpose of the study and the project is to re-establish habitat connectivity along Malibu Creek and its tributaries and restore migratory access to former upstream spawning areas for indigenous aquatic species, such as steelhead trout, by removing obstructions in the creek, including Rindge Dam.
The study area includes Malibu Creek and tributaries, and shoreline and nearshore locations outside of the watershed.
