Carol Moss Nominated As Malibu’s 'Older American' Honoree
The City Council nominated Moss because of demonstrated outstanding community service to represent Malibu in the county's OARD Awards.

MALIBU, CA -- The City Council has nominated Carol Moss to be Malibu’s Older American honoree to be recognized by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors.
Moss was nominated at the Council's meeting Monday.
“Older Americans are the very fabric of the community, serving as our collective memory and conscience,” mayor Lou La Monte said. “Their countless contributions to science, government, the arts, and academia lay the foundations that future generations will stand on, in Malibu, and in every community.”
The Los Angeles County Commission for Older Adults invited the city of Malibu to participate in the 52nd Annual Older Americans Recognition Day Awards Program. For the past 51 years, the President, the Governor, and the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors have designated the month of May as Older Americans Recognition Month.
The Council has the opportunity to nominate an individual, age 60 or older, who has demonstrated outstanding community service, to represent Malibu. This year’s theme is “Age Out Loud.” The County’s 2017 OARD Awards Program will be held on May 31, 2017, at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, Music Center Grand Hall.
