Civil Rights Attorney Gloria Allred to Speak at Malibu Library Speaker Series Feb. 15
Allred, who gained fame as one of America's most tenacious legal civil rights attorney, will discuss her book and life's work.

MALIBU, CA -- Controversial civil rights attorney Gloria Allred will be the speaker Wednesday as part of the Malibu Library Speakers Series.
Allred, who gained fame as one of America’s most tenacious legal civil rights attorney, will discuss her book and life's work on Feb. 15 at the Malibu City Hall, 23825 Stuart Ranch Road. She has won hundreds of millions of dollars for victims of civil rights abuses, rape, child sexual abuse and murder.
Allred has been nominated for multiple Emmy Awards for her legal commentaries on KABC-TV and for her nationally syndicated show “We the People with Gloria Allred.” In her most recent book “Fight Back and Win: My Thirty-Year Fight Against Injustice and How You Can Win Your Own Battles,” Allred offers animated anecdotes of self-empowerment from her personal and professional life.
“More than at any time in recent memory, civil rights are at the forefront of our minds and have become the topic of debate across the country,” Mayor Lou La Monte said. “Having such an influential figure in the legal civil rights arena at our Speakers Series offers a great opportunity for Malibu to discuss these highly relevant topics.”
The free event takes place at 7 p.m. at Malibu City Hall’s Civic Theater and includes a Q-and-A with the speaker, followed by a reception with refreshments. Space is limited and RSVPs are required.

The Malibu Library Speaker Series is a program of the county of Los Angeles Public Library, Malibu Branch, and the city of Malibu, featuring experts, authors and notable figures discussing a wide range of subjects, including the entertainment industry, literature, science, motivation, the arts, education, sports, travel, food and the environment. The events are free and open to the public.
