Closing Statements: Skylar Peak
What City Council Candidate Skylar Peak wants residents to know before April 10.

From April 3-6, Malibu Patch will share a running series called 'Closing Statements.' It will give the seven City Council candidates an opportunity to share with readers their final thoughts regarding the upcoming election. Election day is April 10. The statement below is written by Skylar Peak.
This election is a turning point for our city. Malibu is a unique community and we are incredibly fortunate to live here in this beautiful rural town. We must fight to preserve it and I am your voice to do just that. I offer a new innovative mind with fresh ideas and a background in civic leadership.
I intend to honor my commitment to serve this community as a member of your Malibu City Council.

Our community needs reasonable wastewater solutions and must pressure Cal Trans for more safety and traffic flow improvements. We should not be supporting the proposed lagoon project, especially when the State ignores our City’s concerns. Our kids need to be represented fairly and a Malibu School district will better serve both the teachers and children of Malibu.
I will ensure that our community, neighborhoods, and roads are safe and that Malibu remains a great place to live, work, and raise a family for future generations. I will get the job done by working diligently with my colleagues, keeping my ear to the ground in our community, bringing positive new ideas and an open mind to improve our community.

If you envision a Malibu with more commercial shopping malls, endless traffic, and outside developers pouring into town, then I am NOT your candidate. But if you want to preserve and protect the community that we all call home, join me and support me in the 2012 Malibu City Council Election. A vote for PEAK is a vote for a better Malibu. Thank you.
