DUI Checkpoint Planned in Malibu This Week
The checkpoint is aimed at reducing the amount of alcohol-related deaths in Malibu.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department will hold the final of two DUI checkpoints this month in Malibu.
The checkpoint is set for Aug. 30 at an undisclosed location within the city limits of Malibu between the hours of 8 p.m. p.m. and 4 a.m., according to the Lost Hills/Malibu Sheriff's Station.
Deputies will be checking drivers passing through the checkpoint for signs of alcohol and/or drug impairment.
Funding for the checkpoint is provided to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety to the city of Malibu, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
