Gunman Fires On Deputies In Malibu Standoff
Neighbors were directed to shelter in place as a SWAT Team surrounded the home just north of PCH Friday.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A man who barricaded himself inside a Malibu home after firing on deputies surrendered to police Friday after a nearly two-hour standoff.
The SWAT team had surrounded a man who barricaded himself inside a home on the 22000 block of Carbon Mesa Road, according to the sheriff's department and broadcast reports. The standoff prompted authorities to close down the road and urge neighbors to shelter in place.
Deputies responded to a report of gunshots around 2 p.m. Friday, when the armed suspect opened fire, KTLA5 reported.

It was unclear if the man resides at the home he was in.
A SWAT team from the sheriff's department was assisting the deputies, according to reports. shortly before 4 p.m., the man peacefully surrendered, KTLA reported.
