Kanan Road in Malibu Closes Because of Rock Slide
The storm is also causing flooding on Westward Beach Road near Pacific Coast Highway and Rainsford Place, the city said.

MALIBU, CA -- The storm predicted by forecasters was causing havoc Friday night on the roads in Malibu.
A rock slide has closed Kanan Road in both directions as crews are working to remove a boulder and debris from the roadway, according to the city of Malibu.
The rain was causing flooding on Westward Beach Road near Pacific Coast Highway and Zuma Access Road. There was also reported flooding on Rainsford Place between Busch and Bonsall drives, according to the city.

City officials were advising motorists to take alternate routes.
"Be cautious on the roads," Malibu spokesman Matt Myerhoff said. "Don’t drive through flooded streets."

The traffic signal at the intersection of PCH and Las Flores Canyon Road was flashing, causing delays. Caltrans was notified but there was no estimated time for repair, according to Malibu emergency services.
Residents were urged to sign up for emergency alerts from the city at http://malibucity.org/alerts.
