Rockslide Closes Malibu Canyon Road Before Tunnel
Crews are on the scene assessing the condition of the road but it's unclear at this time if the road can be reopened, according to the CHP.

MALIBU, CA -- A rockslide Friday has blocked a major connector road to Pacific Coast High Coast Highway in the Malibu area, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The rockslide blocked both of the southbound lanes of Malibu Canyon Road, prompting a closure in both directions from Piuma Road to the tunnel, about 2 miles north of PCH, according to the CHP.
The slide was reported at around 8:05 a.m. and a SigAlert has been issued for the area for several hours, the CHP said. Crews are on the scene assessing the conditions of the road and it's unclear at this time when or if the road can be reopened, the CHP said.

The second in a series of three struck the Malibu area Friday, bringing heavy rain, high winds, high surf and a risk of thunderstorms and waterspouts.
A wind advisory for issued the San Fernando, Santa Clarita and Antelope valleys, Santa Catalina Island, the Santa Monica Mountains Recreational Area, L.A. County Beach Cities, metropolitan Los Angeles, the downtown area and the Hollywood Hills, with winds in these areas blowing at between 15 and 35 mph and gusting at up to 60 mph.
