MALIBU, CA — A rockslide closed Malibu Canyon from Piuma Road to Civic Center/Seaver Drive Wednesday afternoon.

A boulder fell into the roadway blocking one lane of Malibu Canyon Road around 3 p.m., shortly after which a number of other rocks dropped down onto the road from the mountain above, according to a Malibu Times reporter.

Both directions of Malibu Canyon Road were blocked near the tunnel with no estimate on when they would reopen, according to the city of Malibu.
