Standoff At Beachfront Malibu Home Continues After 3 Hours: Report

A person has barricaded themselves inside a beachfront home in Malibu and is refusing to come out, according to a report.

MALIBU, CA — Deputies are engaged in a standoff with someone has barricaded themselves inside a beachfront home in Malibu, according to a report.

The person, who is suspected of assault with a deadly weapon, has been refusing to obey deputies' commands to come out of a house on the 25000 block of Malibu Road in Malibu, according to the Sheriff's Information Bureau.

The initial call came in at around 10:20 a.m. The suspect remained inside the home as of 1:30 p.m.

Two people were possibly hurt in connection to the incident, KTLA reported.

Aerial footage captured by the station shows what appears to be a large amount of trash and items from inside the home strewn about the beach.

Malibu Road was closed as a result of the incident and authorities urged people to avoid the area.
