Did you Smell Gas in Del Rey This Morning?

Odor was a result of gas company work.

The So. Cal. Gas Co. was conducting a so-called "gas blow-down" at 6:30 a.m. in the area of Jefferson Boulevard and Inglewood Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

A "blow-down" is the process of venting gas from a tank or well that may have been shut off for a period of time before begging work on it.

A small amount of gas odor was emitted during the process.
