Historic Marina del Rey Hotel to Receive $20M Makeover
The Marina del Rey Hotel was originally built in 1964 and will celebrate its 50th anniversary next year.

Marina del Rey's very first hotel will soon receive a $20 million renovation just in time for its 50th anniversary, hotel owners announced Monday.
The Marina del Rey Hotel, built in 1964, will undergo a vast overhaul which includes closing the entire hotel until spring of 2014. During that time, the 160-room hotel will get upgraded with 4-star amenities including a restaurant, marina-facing pool, sundeck and an outdoor wedding venue.
The renovations will be funded by Pacifica Hotels, which owns the Marina del Rey Hotel along with four other hotels in the direct vicinity. The boutique hotel company has also renovated the Jamaica Bay Inn, Hilton Garden Inn, Inn at Marina del Rey, and Inn at Venice Beach.
“Our intention with this renovation is to revitalize the Marina del Rey Hotel, while maintaining its classic reputation,” Pacifica Hotels President Matt Marquis said in a new release. “We have put significant resources into the Marina del Rey community and want the Marina del Rey Hotel to be a shining example of Pacifica’s investment in the area’s hospitality landscape.”
The Marina del Rey has closed its doors for the facelift and plans on opening with the same name once renovations are completed in early 2014.
Marina del Rey Hotel is located at 13534 Bali Way Marina del Rey.
