More Rain on Its Way for Marina Del Rey — Particularly Overnight Through Thursday

LOS ANGELES, CA -- More widespread rainfall is predicted for Thursday, National Weather Service forecasters said.

The chances of measurable precipitation is set at 70 percent Thursday in L.A. County and 60 percent in Orange County.

About a quarter-inch of rain is expected as a result of the approaching rain, which results from a low-pressure system over the Pacific Ocean, said NWS meteorologist Robbie Munroe. He said the region's best chances of getting wet will occur Wednesday night through Thursday afternoon.

Off the coast, a small craft advisory denoting hazardous conditions for small vessels will be in effect until 3 a.m. Thursday.

The NWS forecast mostly cloudy skies in L.A. County Wednesday, along with highs of 53 degrees Fahrenheit on Mount Wilson; 55 in Palmdale; 56 in Lancaster; 59 in Pasadena, San Gabriel, Burbank and at LAX; 60 in Woodland Hills, Long Beach and Avalon; and 61 in downtown L.A. Thursday's forecast calls mostly for marginally higher temperatures amid showers, followed by five days of temperatures ranging mostly from the mid to high 50s, with rain on Monday.

Partly skies were forecast in Orange County Wednesday, along with highs of 59 in San Clemente; 60 in Laguna Beach, Yorba Linda, Fullerton and Mission Viejo; 61 in Newport Beach and Anaheim; and 62 in Irvine. Thursday's Orange County forecast calls for roughly the same temperatures amid rain, followed by cloudy skies, a spike to the high 60s Sunday and rain on Monday.
