High-Speed Chase Ends With Injuries On Highway 4 Near Martinez
Westbound Highway 4 was closed following the pursuit that ended in a crash near Alhambra Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — At least one person suffered a major injury following a solo-vehicle crash that was a result of a high-speed pursuit involving the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office on westbound state Highway 4 near Martinez on Monday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP said the crash was reported at about 9 p.m. just west of Alhambra Avenue. Caltrans had a full closure in place and the CHP was assisting with the collision investigation. All traffic was being diverted off at Alhambra Avenue and the estimated time of reopening was 3 a.m. Tuesday.
The Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office deferred questions to a spokesperson, who as of 1:45 a.m., had not returned requests for more information.
