The Archdiocese of San Francisco announced Father Christopher Fadok will the new Priest of St. Raymond Church in Menlo Park, California, starting July 1.
Father Fadok is a priest of the Dominican Order who is currently a Parochial Vicar at Blessed Sacrament Church in Seattle, Washington. He has a Master of Philosophy and a Master of Divinity from The Dominican School of Philosophy and Theology.
He received the Sacrament of Confirmation in 1997, according to the school’s directory of friars. His profile says that the works of Pope John Paul II influenced his decision to study Catholic thought. After six months, he left the order to pursue a relationship with a woman and a career in computers, according to his profile. He returned to the Dominican Order in 2002 and was ordained in 2010.
He is said to like playing the drums and distance running.
A spokesperson for the Archdiocese of San Francisco said Father Fadok will be introduced informally to the congregation when he simply begins to lead Sunday mass. Five Dominican priests will accompany him and live in the rectory, according to a contract between the Archdiocese of San Francisco and The Western Province of the Dominican Order that describes Father Fadok's placement. It is a five-year contract that will be reviewed at the end of that time. The staff at the parish and St. Raymond School is expected to remain the same.
St. Raymond Church’s leadership has been unstable since its Pastor was accused of engaging in inappropriate conduct with a minor in June 2011.
St. Raymond is a Catholic church located at 1100 Santa Cruz Avenue in Menlo Park, California
