Caltrain Strikes Vehicle On Tracks In Atherton, 1 Injured

A northbound passenger train collided with an occupied vehicle on the tracks in Atherton Friday night, Caltrain said.

ATHERTON, CA — A northbound passenger train collided with an occupied vehicle on the tracks in Atherton Friday night, Caltrain said.

The collision with train 133 occurred about 8:30 p.m. at Fair Oaks Lane, railroad spokeswoman Tasha Bartholomew said in a statement.

The vehicle's driver was injured and was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, she said.
About 65 passengers were aboard the train and there were no reported injuries, she said.

Trains were stopped in the area while an investigation took place. Transit police opened the southbound track at 10:15 p.m. and train 133 resumed traveling north at 10:49, she said.
