Clay Curtin will be the new Assistant to the City Manager in the city of Menlo Park, California, starting June 3.
Curtin was previously the management services senior management analyst for the City of Manhattan Beach.
"It’s bittersweet to say goodbye," said Manhattan Beach City Manager David Carmany. "Clay is going to make a fine city manager one of these days – he’s definitely on the right path. He’s ethical and hard-working, and has gained the trust of the staff and community. I’m so happy for him that he’s landed a job as an assistant city manager, and grateful that I’ve had the chance to work with him here."
Curtin earned a bachelor's degree in political science in 2003 from Washburn University and a Master's Public Administration in 2006 from the Syracuse Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs.
He was a management analyst in the Manhattan Beach Public Works Department before being promoted to his latest role. He was with the city of Manhattan Beach since Nov. 2009. Before that, he worked for the city of West Covina as a management analyst.
