Driver Spots Mountain Lion By Menlo Park Golf Course

The possible sighting Monday morning follows several confirmed around the Bay Area since the beginning of the year.

MENLO PARK, CA — A driver called in a mountain lion sighting Monday morning outside the Sharon Heights Golf Club in Menlo Park, according to police.

The call came in around 7:30 a.m. from a driver who said they saw a mountain lion near the golf course's fence line on Sand Hill Road. An officer from the Menlo Park Police Department responded to the area to look for the mountain lion and notified staff members, who aided in the search.

A police spokesperson told Patch that neither the officer nor golf course workers were able to find the creature, but with a lot of people and vehicles in the surrounding area it was possible the animal was scared away.
