Peninsula Crew Assists In Body's Recovery
Officers got a call at 4 p.m. on Friday from a person walking on some trails in the marshlands near 1 Marshlands Road.

FREMONT, CA -- Three crew members from the Menlo Park Fire District assisted in the recovery of a male body found in Fremont on Friday night. Officers got a call at 4 p.m. on Friday from a person walking on some trails in the marshlands near 1 Marshlands Road and near the Dumbarton Bridge, Fremont police spokeswoman Geneva Bosques said.
The body was seen in some mud and may have washed up there.
Air Boat 77 launched from the base of the Dumbarton Bridge on the Menlo Park side of the San Francisco Bay at 7.16 pm, the fire crew carefully performed the body recovery at 7.26 pm and coordinated and executed the transfer of the male victim to the Alameda Coroner Deputies at 7.37 pm at the base of the Fremont side of the Dumbarton Bridge.

Menlo Park Fire District Chief Schapelhouman said “our two fire agencies (Menlo and Fremont) regularly work together in the Bay to perform water rescues and recoveries. Using their drone, Fremont Battalion Chiefs confirmed the location of the victim and coordinated with our Battalion Chief who radioed Air Boat 77 the exact coordinates of the victim location, which expedited the recovery operation before nightfall."
