MENLO PARK, CA -- A Menlo Park home suffered $66,000 in damages after a blaze erupted Saturday evening. The fire was reported around 5:19 p.m. on Amber Way, according to fire officials.
Officials said the fire started in the wall of the 2,400 square foot house due to the soldering of the pipe, which originated from a new faucet area.
More than 20 crew members were dispatched to the scene and had the fire under control within 20 minutes. They were on scene until 9 p.m. to ensure the fire was completely out, officials said.

The owner and occupants were home at the time of the fire but were uninjured. They were discussing a plumbing project with their handyman, who grabbed a garden hose once he saw smoke, officials said.
